Electrical Technician


Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completed or willing to obtain electrical certification from a community or technical college
  • Two years experience in electrical/panel shop work

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Knowledge and experience with soldering, circuit testing, wiring control panels, wiring motor starters, and test equipment (DMM's, Oscilloscopes, Process Calibrator)
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to think logically, be well-organized, and perform work quickly and accurately
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • Ability to maintain an effective, courteous, and tactful relationship with other employees and clients
  • Must be on time and have a good attitude at work
  • Willingness to be assume other job duties as necessary to complete projects
  • Must be able to travel when needed, including international travelAbility to learn new methods and equipment quickly

Job Duties: Will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Report to the Automation Manager
  • Respect and adhere to all active contracts and confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients
  • Respect and adhere to all safety rules procedures, and complete all necessary safety training
  • Fabricate electronic control panels used in industrial manufacturing plants
  • Perform general maintenance of electrical equipment and power systems
  • Perform other functions in the Automation Department as requested by the Automation Manager or higher management

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Coordinate the use of both hands to perform tasks
  • Lifting and handling equipment and materials of up to 50lbs
  • Reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, walking, talking, hearing, reading and seeing

Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; must be able to work on short notice and work extra hours, including weekends, if needed
