QA/QC Inspector

QA/QC Inspector for ASME Pressure Vessel Shop

Training and Experience:

  • 1–3 years experience in the field of NDE, QA or QC or similar function in a Welding/Fabrication Facility
  • NDT training or equivalent experience. Preferably SNT-TC-1A qualified for VT, PT and MT or AWS CWI


  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, be able to think logically, be well organized, keep a clean work environment and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Respect and adhere to all legal confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients
  • Must be willing and have the ability to maintain an effective, courteous and tactful relationship with other employees and clients
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Knowledge and experience with NDE, ASME Pressure Vessel and Pipe Codes

General Description of Work:

  • This job will encompass all areas of the Applied Chemical Technology, Inc. ASME Quality Control Manual.

Job Duties: Will include the following, but will not be limited to just these:

  • Will report to the Fabrication Manager and QCM
  • Will perform the quality control, quality assurance and inspection for the fabrication department
  • Complete Traveler for equipment being fabricated, from the layout, fit-up, to the finished product
  • Complete non-destructive testing, as needed or supervise contract NDE personnel
  • Maintain all material test records
  • Receive, inspect, mark and issue all ASME Code materials
  • Witness and perform hydrostatic test
  • Work with AI
  • Current work is 50% CODE Work and 50% NON-CODE Work

Physical Demands: As necessary to carryout essential duties and responsibilities requiring:

  • Occasional lifting, climbing on or around equipment and/or handling of heavy equipment and tools
  • Some reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing and seeing
  • Must be well coordinated having the ability to use both hands to perform tasks

Hours: 40 hours per week. 7AM-3:30 PM. OT as needed
Benefits: Available after 90 (ninety) day probationary period
Compensation: Based on experience.
